Software Defined Network (SDN)

SDN is an innovative architecture that separates network control and forwarding layers via Openflow, simplifying management, cutting maintenance costs, enabling flexible traffic control, and providing a standardized platform for network application and innovation.

The S5135S-EI series supports a large flow table. Working with the H3C SDN controller, it enables a two-layer network architecture and rapid function expansion on existing networks, drastically reducing network operation and maintenance costs.

IRF2 (Intelligent Resilient Framework 2)

The S5135S-EI series supports IRF2 technology, which virtualizes up to 9 physical devices into a single logical device for unified management and operation. Core benefits include:
  • Simplified management: Log in to the unified system via any port on any member device, and configure the entire IRF2 stack through a single device, eliminating separate configuration for each unit.
  • High scalability: Achieve plug-and-play aggregation by adding new switches to the stack. New devices can be managed via a single IP and upgraded synchronously, lowering expansion costs.
  • High reliability: Patented 1:N backup technology enables all slave devices to back up the master, creating control and data link redundancy with uninterrupted Layer 3 forwarding. Traffic remains uninterrupted if the master fails, avoiding unplanned downtime.
  • Load balancing & availability: Support cross-device link aggregation for extra redundancy and higher resource utilization. Implemented via standard GE ports, IRF2 optimizes bandwidth allocation for business access and traffic splitting.


Comprehensive Security Control

The S5135S-EI series supports innovative single-port multi-authentication, flexibly adapting to diverse client authentication needs including MAC address, 802.1X and Web Portal authentication, with unified deployment on one port.It supports SSH V2 for information security and strong authentication, protecting the switch from IP spoofing and plaintext password interception attacks.To defend against ARP attacks and viruses (key LAN security threats), the series is equipped with comprehensive ARP protection including ARP Detection (client legitimacy and packet validity checks) and ARP rate limiting (to prevent CPU-targeted flood attacks).

It also supports EAD (End User Admission Domination). Working with the iMC system, EAD integrates terminal security policies (anti-virus, patch updates) with network access and permission control to form a collaborative security system. By inspecting, isolating, updating and monitoring access terminals, EAD transforms passive, single-point protection into active, comprehensive protection, enhancing the network's defense against viruses, worms and emerging threats.

High Availability

The S5135S-EI series features multi-level redundancy at the device and link levels. It supports overcurrent/overvoltage surge control, overheat protection, power and fan fault detection/alerting, and automatic fan speed adjustment based on temperature.

In addition to device-level redundancy, the series provides rich link redundancy support including LACP/STP/RSTP/MSTP/Smart Link protocols, as well as IRF2 1:N backup and cross-device link aggregation, which significantly improves network reliability.

Abundant QoS

The S5135S-EI series supports Layer 2 to Layer 4 packet filtering, and traffic classification based on source/destination MAC/IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports, protocol types and VLANs. It supports flexible port- and queue-based scheduling algorithms including SP, WRR and SP+WRR.The series enables CAR with a minimum granularity of 8 kbps, and supports bidirectional port mirroring to monitor packets on specified ports and mirror them to the monitor port for network detection and troubleshooting.

Professional Surge Protection

The S5135S-EI series adopts professional built-in surge protection technology, supporting industry-leading 10KV surge protection on service ports, which greatly reduces equipment damage caused by surge strikes even in harsh working environments.

Excellent Manageability

The S5135S-EI series simplifies management with support for SNMPv1/v2/v3, and can be managed by mainstream platforms such as Open View and iMC. It also supports CLI and Telnet for easier operation, and SSH 2.0 encryption to enhance management security.

Fast PoE & Perpetual PoE

  • Fast PoE: Enables the PSE to supply power to PDs within seconds after power-on, without waiting for the PSE to complete full startup.
  • Perpetual PoE: Continuously monitors PD status and ensures uninterrupted power supply to PDs even when the PSE is hot rebooting.


Green Design

The S5135S-EI series implements multiple green energy-saving features: auto-power-down (automatically cuts power to idle interfaces) and EEE energy-saving mode (sets idle ports to low-power mode).
The series is compliant with the EU RoHS environmental protection and safety standard. The 24-port (S5135S-24T4S-EI-Q) and 48-port (S5135S-48T4S-EI-Q) models adopt a fanless design, significantly reducing power consumption and operating noise.
